
A police chase on Milwaukee’s east side resulted in tragedy last night, as officers attempted to apprehend a reckless driver near the popular Brady Street district. According to FOX6 News, the pursuit began around 9:22 p.m. near Humboldt and Pleasant when police observed a car being driven recklessly and tried to stop the vehicle. The driver refused to comply, leading to a pursuit.
Ending near the bustling intersection of North Humboldt Avenue and West Brady Street, the fleeing vehicle struck another car, reports WISN 12 News. The collision resulted in fatal consequences for the 29-year-old driver of the car hit, who was pronounced dead at the hospital following the accident. A passenger in the stricken vehicle escaped with non-life threatening injuries and is being treated at a local hospital.
The 22-year-old driver behind the wheel of the reckless vehicle was arrested after being transported to a hospital with non-fatal injuries, as per Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. The name of the deceased and details surrounding the circumstances of the chase have not been released by authorities pending family notification and a further investigation into the incident.
