
A tragic incident occurred early this morning on Columbus' Northeast Side, leading to one fatality and two injuries in a wrong-way crash on State Route 161. The Columbus Dispatch reports that Isaiah Allen, 34, was pronounced dead at the scene after his motorcycle collided with a Honda Accord around 12:09 a.m. near Little Turtle Road.
Allen, who was reportedly driving westbound in the eastbound lanes, struck the front passenger side of the Accord. Due to the force of the collision, he was thrown to the ground, as mentioned in an article from ABC6. The two passengers in the Honda involved in the accident were transported to Mount Carmel St. Ann's hospital and are reported to be in stable condition.
The investigation of the crash is being undertaken by the Columbus police's Accident Investigation Unit. As of now, there has been no disclosure about the reasons behind Allen's wrong-way travel on the highway. According to details obtained from NBC4i, the other vehicle involved, a 2022 Honda Accord, was traveling eastbound at the time of the crash near Little Turtle Way.
