A Fenton, Michigan local, Kenneth Stayt, 70, has won a windfall from the Michigan Lottery, eagerly planning to share the proceeds with his family. His win originated from a "Lucky For Life" ticket that aligned with the five white balls in the July 19 drawing, as reported by WNEM.
Reflecting on his routine that turned fortuitous, Stayt said, "I go to Sagebrush Cantina regularly and usually play Club Keno while I'm there, but this time I purchased a Lucky For Life ticket instead." The revelatory moment came when he opted to quickly check the winning numbers on MichiganLottery.com. He told ABC12 that he "was thrilled to see his ticket matched all five white balls." Winning, he observes, is a "life-changing amount of money that will allow me to live easy and not have to worry about things."
The winning numbers for his ticket purchased at Sagebrush Cantina, were 12-23-33-35-36. Rather than receiving an annual $25,000 for life, Stayt elected a one-time lump payment, amounting to $390,000. According to WZZM13, the victor plans to surprise family with the sudden windfall, having kept his win a secret thus far.
With a newfound fortune, Stayt speaks of spreading the joy. "I’ve been keeping my big win a secret from my kids, and now that I have my check, I plan to surprise them with the money!" Stayt told WNEM. The post-victory strategy seems to be not only to share with close ones but to also invest the remainder judiciously, with an eye on securing the future.
