Drivers in Flagstaff should prepare for a series of road closures and repairs starting next week, as the city undertakes its annual Road Repair and Street Safety (RRSS) program. Northbound Beulah Blvd will be hitting a snag at Forest Meadows St on July 21 for less than 24 hours due to pavement patching, an essential step ahead of a full pavement overlay planned for August. This alert was issued by the City of Flagstaff, aiming to give residents and commuters time to plan alternative routes.
While southbound traffic on Beulah Blvd won't be affected by the closure, other streets will not be as lucky. According to Flagstaff's official announcement, Kaspar Dr and Lynch Ave will undergo concrete forming and placement from July 21 to July 25. Additionally, Switzer Canyon Dr, San Francisco St, and Timberline Rd are all slated for pavement patching on July 22, July 23 and 24, and July 25, respectively.
The City and its contractors have stated that they are taking all possible measures to minimize the impact of this work on residents and businesses. Funded by the voter-approved 2014 Proposition 406—a $100 million, 20-year dedicated sales tax—the RRSS program aims to enhance road repair and street safety across Flagstaff.
