The bus, carrying passengers ranging from young children to senior adults, was en route from Fort Worth to Eagle Pass when it was struck by the stolen vehicle.
Initial reports by SAPD indicated that, following the collision, four individuals fled from the stolen car, which had made a forceful impact with the bus. One of them, the police noted, was armed with a rifle as they escaped the scene. San Antonio Police Chief William McManus relayed details of this harrowing event, with the southbound lanes of I-35 being shut down for hours while emergency services attended to the victims and the investigation unfolded on the road, still wet from a police statement obtained by KTSA.
Victims from the crash included two senior citizens among the four fatalities, and at least thirteen individuals were transported to local hospitals.
