A violent incident unfolded in the early hours yesterday when gunfire erupted in a Kalihi parking lot, leaving four out of five men with gunshot wounds. In what appears to be a targeted attack, shots rang out around 1:30 AM, initially mistaken for fireworks by the victims gathered at the location.
The Honolulu Police Department released a statement on their official social media page, confirming the initiation of an Attempted Murder investigation post the incident. According to the police, the suspect or suspects, who remain at large, carried out the drive-by shooting from a newer model red Jeep pickup truck. At this time, the authorities have no descriptions or license plate information that could lead to their apprehension.
The victims, identified as five adult males between the ages of 18 and 35, were rushed to nearby hospitals for medical attention. Details pertaining to their condition have not been disclosed beyond the fact that they were all hospitalized following the event.
