
Frisco residents and commuters, brace yourselves for a week of traffic rearrangements as the Dallas North Tollway (DNT) undergoes another phase of its widening project—lane and ramp closures are on the docket from July 27 through August 2. According to the City of Frisco announcement, motorists should prepare for intermittent disruptions along various segments of DNT and Dallas Parkway.
The specifics of the closures outline that daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the north- and southbound right lanes will be closed from Gaylord Parkway to Cotton Gin Parkway, and similarly, the southbound right lane from PGA Parkway to Fields Parkway, nightly closures will also occur from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. affecting two various lanes running north and south from Legacy Drive to US 380, these provisions are set not to continue without break throughout the day, yet only utilized as the work demands.
Of note, for drivers who frequent the tollway during the day, starting Monday, July 28, through Thursday, July 31, the northbound left lane near Fields Parkway is slated for closure between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.. Detours and alternative routes should be considered for those looking to avoid the expected congestion.
Not to be overlooked are the continuous closures, which include the northbound DNT entrance ramp at SH 121, the southbound SH 121/Headquarters Drive exit ramp and the southbound John Hickman Parkway/Warren Parkway/Gaylord Parkway exit ramp; these will remain closed throughout the specified period which may further cause significant traffic disruption, motorist are therefore encouraged to exercise caution in the work zone or plan alternate travel routes, the Waze app can be utilized to navigate around these road closures, with more information around lane closures and traffic-related news along NTTA roadways available on the NTTA website.
