
On the morning of last Saturday, the Galt Police Department responded to a fire behind Kiki’s Wings and Tenders in Galt Plaza. A 25-year-old man was arrested at the scene on arson charges. The Cosumnes Fire Department arrived and quickly extinguished the fire, as reported by the Galt Police Department.
A social media post by the Galt Police Department stated that officers responded to a fire and found a man, identified as Jose Angel Guerra Hernandez of Walnut Grove, hiding on the back patio of a business. A witness identified him as the person who started the fire. He was found with lighters, a propane canister, and a used methamphetamine pipe. Guerra-Hernandez was arrested for arson and possession of drug paraphernalia, booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail, and later released. He is scheduled to appear in court.
According to the Galt Police Department on their Facebook page, the department acknowledged the community and Cosumnes Fire for their quick response.
