The Geauga County Sheriff’s Office took a step beyond its standard patrol duties to engage with the Amish community through an annual event aimed at enhancing safety and fostering connections. Sheriff Scott A. Hildenbrand attended the Amish Safety Day to share knowledge and integrate more deeply with local residents. The focus of this engagement was to offer advice on a slew of safety concerns, including road safety, internet security, and fraud protection.
In a display of community policing, the Sheriff's Office not only imparted safety tips but also engaged with Amish families, children, and community leaders in a bid to strengthen the bonds between law enforcement and the residents they serve. “The Geauga County Sheriff’s Office was honored to attend Amish Safety Day, a special event focused on building relationships and promoting safety within our Amish communities," said Sheriff Hildenbrand, according to the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Facebook post. The Sheriff emphasized the importance of these gatherings in fostering a "Geauga County safe — for everyone."
