Grandville's staple movie theater, Celebration Cinema at RiverTown Crossings, has concluded the first phase of a sweeping $5 million renovation. As reported by FOX 17, the upgrades include expanded risers and the installation of heated recliners. To mark the completion of this phase, Celebration Cinema is offering a one-day promotion this coming Saturday: patrons who purchase a movie ticket will receive a free small popcorn.

The theater's overhaul hasn't been purely cosmetic. A new premium auditorium featuring Dolby Atmos sound and 4K laser projection has been added to enhance the cinematic experience. This update was part of the overall improvements that included new carpeting, wallpaper, lighting, and paint in the theater’s hallways, corridors, and bathrooms. MLive detailed these changes, noting the seating updates were manufactured by the local Walker-based Irwin Seating.

Following the substantial enhancements, Celebration Cinema is already planning the second phase of its revitalization. This includes the construction of a full kitchen and a new lobby and bar area, aiming to elevate the venue well beyond the standard movie theater experience. "My team is so proud of how they contribute to the magic," Austin Mueller, the theater’s general manager, expressed pride in the developments, according to MLive. "We want to be a place where neighbors connect, families make memories and everyone feels welcome," Mueller added.

Emily Loeks, director of Community Affairs for Celebration Cinema, echoed this sentiment, stating, "Our team has been working incredibly hard and we are excited for folks to come check out the new movie-going experience," in a release obtained by WOODTV. She encouraged visitors to enjoy current "popcorn movies" like SUPERMAN, F1, JURASSIC WORLD, and SMURFS, particularly on the day when free popcorn will be part of the mix.

Further cementing its commitment to the location, Celebration Cinema has renewed its lease at the RiverTown Crossings mall. Details on the lease term were not disclosed, but the theater's renovation and renewal underscore the confidence in the mall's future. Poag Development Group, which acquired the mall in 2024, has also invested in improvements across the mall’s infrastructure, enhancing its appeal and functionality.
