
Last Saturday in Nevada City, 40-year-old Elisa Pueraro of Grass Valley was arrested following an axe attack and a 13-mile vehicle chase. The Nevada County Sheriff’s Office reported that Pueraro was mistaken for a delivery driver when she arrived at a home and allegedly tried to strike the homeowner with an axe. The homeowner was able to lock the door before Pueraro hit it with the weapon. A deputy later saw her vehicle near Highway 20 and Washington Road, and she was taken into custody after a pursuit.
Multiple law enforcement agencies were involved in the chase, including the Grass Valley Police Department, Nevada City Police Department, and CHP – Grass Valley. During the pursuit, Elisa Pueraro backed her vehicle into a CHP unit, tried to hit a Nevada County Sheriff's deputy, and crashed into another vehicle. The chase ended near Scopar Road in Grass Valley, where she reportedly assaulted a CHP officer before being restrained for safety, as stated by the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the Nevada County Sheriff's Office on their Facebook page, Pueraro is facing several charges. These include assault with a deadly weapon 245(A)(1), evading police with disregard for safety 2800.2(A) CVC, obstructing a police officer 148(a)(1) PC, being under the influence of a controlled substance 1550 H&S, and vandalism 594 PC. She was arrested following the incident.
