The City of Green Cove Springs has confirmed a significant change in its leadership structure. Michael Daniels, the city’s Development Services Director, is set to leave his post on July 17. Daniels has accepted a new opportunity elsewhere, concluding his six-year tenure with the city.
Spearheading initiatives like the establishment of the city’s first Community Redevelopment Agency, Daniels has been an integral part of Green Cove Springs' growth. The adoption of the Community Redevelopment Plan also came under his watch, both efforts contributing to attracting businesses and fostering future development. Even though serving as Development Services Director for six years, the department has achieved considerable progress.
In an announcement from the City of Green Cove Springs, City Manager Steve Kennedy has commended Daniels for his service. "We appreciate Mr. Daniels’ dedication and the positive impact he has had on the department and the City as a whole," Kennedy said. "We wish him continued success in this next chapter of his career."
Though a permanent replacement has yet to be named, the city assured residents and stakeholders that the process is underway. An interim department head is expected to be introduced soon. In the interim, relaying Daniels' duties, Lyndie Knowles will handle Development Services inquiries. Knowles, already a part of the team, can be reached at (904) 297-7051 or by email at [email protected].
