A shooting took place just after 5:30 p.m. on Sunday at 7530 Collins Lake Road in Browns Valley. One person was shot in the arm while trying to leave the area with their family. The Yuba County Sheriff's Department shared the information in a social media post.
Following the incident, the victim was taken to Rideout Adventist Hospital in Marysville for medical treatment. Investigators have started reviewing the events that led to the gunfire. Detectives are working to confirm the identity of the suspect or suspects and determine what caused the confrontation, as reported by the Yuba County Sheriff's Department.
According to the Yuba County Sheriff’s Department on their Facebook page, the department is asking for the public’s help in a shooting investigation at Collins Lake. Anyone with information is urged to call (530) 749-7777 and select option 5. The incident appears to be isolated, and there is no ongoing threat to the community. The investigation is ongoing.
