Harris County deputies swiftly apprehended a suspect allegedly caught in the act of vandalizing commercial property. A report of suspicious activity led them to the 6400 block of Cypresswood Drive, where a male individual was busy cutting wires from air conditioning units. The suspect, Justin Martin Duenes, was promptly detained on the scene.
According to a post by Constable Mark Herman's Office, the incident occurred behind a local business where the damage to the AC units is projected to surpass the $25,000 mark. This figure encapsulates not just the cost of the property taken or destroyed, but also the not so easily quantified disruption to the business's operations and comfort of its patrons.
Law enforcement officials confirmed that Duenes was arrested and is currently facing felony Criminal Mischief charges. His bond was reportedly set at $5,000 out of the 488th District Court. "This type of senseless vandalism affects local businesses and the community they serve. We will continue to respond swiftly and hold criminals accountable," Constable Mark Herman stated.
