A routine traffic stop turned chase ended with an arrest in Harris County this week. Last Sunday night, a deputy from Constable Mark Herman's Office attempted to pull over a vehicle on Cypresswood Drive. The driver, later identified as Jevohn Hicks, had other plans, leading law enforcement on a dangerous game of cat and mouse in the dark.
According to the official Facebook page of Precinct 4, during the chase, Hicks turned off all the vehicle's lights—a move seen as an attempt to shake off pursuing officers. Despite Hicks's efforts to blend into the night, deputies managed to stop the vehicle and take Hicks into custody without further incident.
Constable Mark Herman's office provided an account of the event, detailing that "Jevohn Hicks was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Evading Arrest in a Motor Vehicle. His bond was set at $2,500.00 out of the 482nd District Court."
