Authorities in Harris County have detained a man following a road rage incident that culminated with gunfire. Yesterday, Constable Mark Herman's Office deputies rushed to the 5300 block of Sweetwind Lane after receiving reports of shots being fired. Witnesses on the scene recounted hearing about 10 shots amidst a disturbance.
The subsequent investigation pointed to Angel Perez as the suspect who allegedly discharged a firearm multiple times into the air during a heated exchange with another driver. When deputies searched the vehicle, they discovered a Glock 45 (9mm handgun) and 10 spent shell casings. The Harris County District Attorney's Office has accepted charges for Deadly Conduct against Perez, according to a post on the Precinct 4 Constable’s official Facebook page.
Perez was arrested and later confined to the Harris County Jail, with a bond set at $100.00 out of County Court 16. "This type of reckless behavior will not be tolerated on our roadways. Thankfully, no one was injured during this dangerous act," Constable Mark Herman expressed in the statement released by the Precinct 4 Facebook page.
