After a tsunami warning halted flights, Hawaiian Airlines resumed service on Tuesday evening as state airports began reopening. Alaska Airlines is scheduled to restart operations on Wednesday morning, according to KITV.

Flights to and from Hawaii were disrupted on Tuesday after a tsunami alert, leading Hawaiian Airlines to ground operations while Alaska Airlines held departures. With the all-clear now in place, both airlines have resumed service. Hawaiian Airlines Regional Communications Director Alex Da Silva said, “Guests who plan to travel to, from or within the Hawaiian Islands should check their flight statuses before heading to the airport,” adding that the airline is monitoring airport conditions with government agencies, as reported by KITV.

Hawaiian Airlines and Alaska Airlines announced, “We are holding flight departures to the Islands on Hawaiian Airlines and Alaska Airlines,” as mentioned by Hawaii News Now. Flights already in the air were diverted or returned to the mainland, and passengers were offered waivers to change their travel plans. Flights have since resumed.
