
In Horizon City, Texas, a man has been arrested after showing signs of intoxication following a motor vehicle accident. The Horizon City Police Department reported that the incident occurred on Saturday afternoon. The officers responded to the accident site near Kenazo and Peter Noyes Drive, where they encountered Bernardo JR Carrasco, the driver implicated in the crash. According to a social media post from the Horizon City Police Department, Carrasco was arrested on suspicion of Driving While Intoxicated (DWI).
Following his arrest, Carrasco was taken to the El Paso County Detention Facility. There, he was charged with "DWI–3rd or More Convictions" and "Collision Involving Damage to a Vehicle." His bond, a considerable sum, was set at $61,500.00, reflecting the gravity of the charges brought against him. Assistant Chief Jose Kluge emphasized the danger posed by drunk driving, stating, "Driving while intoxicated is a serious offense which places our community in danger," as per the Horizon City Police Department. Kluge made a plea to the public, urging individuals to seek alternative means of transportation, like ride-share services, when planning on consuming alcohol away from home.
Community members have yet to receive information regarding the specifics of the accident, including whether other parties were involved or if any injuries were sustained. The case is expected to follow the usual proceedings, with Carrasco facing the legal ramifications of his actions.
