Houston authorities are currently investigating a tragic incident that left a 2-year-old boy dead following a collision at a home on Turner Drive. The accident happened last night, and according to the City of Houston's official news release, it occurred around 6 p.m. at the 3800 block of Turner Drive.
The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences has not yet released the name of the juvenile, as the family has yet to be notified. Reports from HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant E. Fendia and Officer T. Phillips shed light on the circumstances of the accident, stating the boy's father, 29, was repositioning a vehicle to park a trailer. He didn’t know his son had followed him outside, and the boy was accidentally hit by the vehicle.
The Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the child deceased. The father stayed at the location and cooperated with the officials. It was noted that the driver showed no signs of intoxication at the time of the accident. After questioning, he was released while the investigation continues to understand the full scope of this tragic event.
