Two people were found dead in a home in River Oaks, Houston, where a possible chemical leak is under investigation. FOX 26 Houston reports that firefighters responded to a call about a person down at a house on Avalon Place. When the Houston Fire Department arrived, they found the bodies in the basement and noticed a strong chemical odor. Crews briefly left the area to put on breathing equipment before going back inside.

Two people were found dead at the scene, which has been marked as hazardous due to a chemical leak. Hazmat teams were called in to handle the situation. Officials have not released the victims' identities or confirmed the source of the leak or the cause of death.

A married couple was found dead in the wine cellar of their Houston home after neighbors called 911. Police said dry ice was stored in the cellar and may have caused a buildup of carbon dioxide gas. Lt. Larry Crowson said, “There was dry ice being stored in the wine cellar. When dry ice melts, it turns into carbon dioxide (gas). Unfortunately, it appears the two people who went into the wine cellar were overcome,” according to KHOU. The area will be ventilated before further investigation. A cat in the home was found alive. No foul play is suspected.
