On Thursday, deputies from Harris County Constable Precinct 4 responded to a report of a man asleep behind the wheel of a vehicle stopped in a moving lane of traffic on the 8000 block of N Sam Houston Parkway. The man, identified as Sterling Bonton, was found to be armed, prompting further investigation, as reported by the Harris County Constable Precinct 4.
Deputies from the Harris County Constable Precinct 4 found Sterling Bonton asleep in a vehicle and woke him up. He refused to take a field sobriety test, so deputies obtained a blood warrant to check for intoxication. During the investigation, they found he had a loaded gun and an open misdemeanor warrant, based on a statement from the Harris County Constable Precinct 4.
According to the Harris County Constable Precinct 4 on their Facebook page, “Sterling Bonton was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail for the open warrant and charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon.” Deputies intercepted him before any incident occurred, and County Court 16 set bonds at $200.
