A second suspect has been identified and charged in the deadly shooting that occurred at an apartment complex on Redford Street in the early hours of May 15. According to information released by the Houston Police Department and provided to City of Houston News, 18-year-old Javeon Washington is now facing capital murder charges in connection with the case and is currently wanted by authorities.
The young man is accused in the 209th State District Court and joins previously arrested 21-year-old Tyrell Robinson, who has been charged with murder in the 174th State District Court for his alleged role in the same incident. Robinson's booking photo has been released and is available publicly. Efforts to urgently locate Washington, who remains at large, are underway, with police urging anyone with information on his whereabouts to come forward.
In what proved to be a tragic loss, the victim, 20-year-old Jermon Williams, was found with multiple gunshot wounds in the parking lot area of the complex by HPD patrol officers responding to the sounds of gunfire. Despite the swift arrival of paramedics, Williams was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witness reports and subsequent HPD investigations helped quickly to identify Robinson as a suspect, leading to his arrest and charge. Investigators continued to pursue leads aggressively, which culminated in the identification of Washington as another suspect. His charge was filed yesterday, as reported by City of Houston News. For those with information that might aid the investigation, contact details have been provided for the HPD Homicide Division and Crime Stoppers.
