Houston police have launched an investigation into a fatal shooting after a man's body was found at a truck stop located at 210 Patton Street on the morning of July 17. According to the City of Houston News, the victim, a 32-year-old male whose name has not yet been released pending family notification, was discovered unresponsive in the parking lot area and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Initial reports indicate that the man appears to have been dead for roughly 12 hours and was starting to undergo early stages of decomposition. Detectives from the HPD Homicide Division, J. Brown and M. Cass, are on the case and have determined that the victim suffered from a gunshot wound. As the investigation seeks to quickly unfold the sequence of events leading to his death, authorities have yet to identify any suspects in connection to the shooting.
