In an unsettling display of brazen criminality captured on film, the Houston Police Department is currently seeking public assistance to locate a man responsible for robbing a woman in a wheelchair at gunpoint. According to Click2Houston, the incident occurred on July 10, around 12:30 a.m., at an ATM on Antoine Drive near Pinemont Drive in northwest Houston. The surveillance video shows the man approaching the woman, who is unable to leave her wheelchair, and forcefully taking the money she had just withdrawn.
Riding away on a bicycle after committing the theft, the perpetrator left the scene with an unknown amount of cash. Described as possibly in his mid-twenties to thirties, the man was dressed in a green t-shirt, camo pants, and obscured under a wide-brimmed trucker hat, as reported by KHOU. Authorities speculate that, based on his likely proximity to the scene, the suspect may be residing in the same area.
The Houston Police Department has released video footage of the incident in the hope that someone will recognize the suspect and provide information to assist in the investigation. Crime Stoppers of Houston is offering a platform for anonymous tips and has asked for anyone with information related to the robbery or the suspect's whereabouts to contact them at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
