A local dealership was the repeated target of theft by a man using counterfeit checks to make off with thousands of dollars in auto parts. Last Friday, deputies from Constable Mark Herman's Office responded to a theft report at Planet Ford on the North Freeway. The suspect, identified as Chadrick Craft, was no stranger to the dealership, having previously secured over $4,000 in auto parts with a fake check.

According to the Constable's Facebook page, Craft's return trip to the dealership was intended for another heist, this time eyeing more than $3,000 in additional parts. However, deputies swiftly detained the repeat offender at the scene. Further probing into the case earned Craft a felony theft charge. The courts have placed his bond at $1,000.00 out of the 338th District Court.

The deputies’ quick response to the incident earned them praise from their superior. "This suspect tried to scam the same business twice and was held accountable thanks to the quick action of our deputies," Constable Mark Herman stated, as reported on the precinct's social media.
