
Houston authorities are currently investigating a deadly incident that occurred earlier this morning on Almeda Road, where, around 1:50 a.m., a woman tragically lost her life in a traffic accident. According to a report by City of Houston News, the woman's identity is yet to be confirmed by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
The accident, which involved a pickup truck from which the female victim fell or was thrown, took place at the 10400 block of Almeda Road. Witnesses at the scene reported seeing the woman standing, perhaps dancing, in the bed of the northbound truck when she tragically fell out and was subsequently struck by another vehicle. The details of this second vehicle remain unknown at this point. Both drivers failed to stop and provide aid, fleeing the scene instead. Houston Fire Department paramedics rushed the woman to a nearby hospital, but she was pronounced deceased upon arrival.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Griffiths and Officer C. Brother are leading the ongoing inquiry into the accident, searching diligently for those responsible for the hit-and-run.
