In a major crackdown on narcotics in Jacksonville, a raid conducted by the JSO Narcotics detectives and SWAT operators has led to the arrest of a 36-year-old man, Tyre Curry, who now faces multiple felony charges. The operation, which targeted a suspected drug house on Wright Avenue, yielded a significant collection of illegal substances and related paraphernalia. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, through a social media post, detailed the seized items, which included 807g of powder cocaine, 192g of crystal meth, and 1,154g of liquid promethazine, among other drugs.
Noteworthy in their haul were 87g of ecstasy, 47g of the potent opioid fentanyl, and a variety of marijuana edibles, crack cocaine, and Xanax pills, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office highlighted the scale and potential impact of this bust, stating "$5,074 in cash and two guns—one of them stolen—were also found, underscoring the operation's success in not just removing drugs but also illegal weapons from the street." Curry, linked to these findings, received charges encompassing trafficking and possession of controlled substances in addition to drug paraphernalia accusations.
As part of its commitment to public safety, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office emphasized the ongoing efforts to combat drug-related crimes in the community.
