Getting your hands on public records in Jefferson County just got a whole lot smoother. The county has unveiled a sleek new online platform called NextRequest, designed to quickly and efficiently handle open records requests. Public Affairs Director Cassie Pearce highlighted the upgrade by saying, "NextRequest will help streamline our internal process and improve turnaround times," according to Jefferson County.
NextRequest allows users to not only submit their requests from the comfort of their digital devices but also to easily track the status and receive updates. The platform has clearly been established to not only simplify but also to transparently make the whole process more accessible. It's a digital leap forward that aims to reduce our old friends, paper, and email, from the equation.
Residents without internet access or those with different accessibility needs haven't been left out in the cold, though. Staff support will be on deck to assist with requests, ensuring no one is excluded from digging into public records as needed. For individuals preferring the traditional route, mailing in written requests remains a perfectly acceptable option.
