Residents in San Antonio who frequent the Johnston Branch Library should be prepared for a brief interruption in service next week. According to the City of San Antonio announcement, the library located at 6307 Sun Valley will close temporarily on July 14 and 15 for an electrical systems upgrade. During the shutdown, patrons will not have access to the facility, including the book drop and outdoor internet connectivity, accordin to the City of San Antonio.
To help during the closure, the San Antonio Public Library recommends visiting nearby branches. You can go to the Guerra Branch at 7978 Military Dr. W. or the Cortez Branch at 2803 Hunter Blvd. Both locations are open and offer full services. San Antonio Public Library is working to make sure library users are not disrupted, as reported by the City of San Antonio.
The Johnston Branch will reopen on Wednesday, July 16. Any items due during the closure will have their return dates extended automatically, so users won’t be penalized. SAPL also doesn’t charge late fines, showing their commitment to being user-friendly. Items can be returned at any branch in the system, as stated by the City of San Antonio.
