A juvenile has been taken into custody following a stabbing incident in Baltimore County, authorities confirmed. The altercation occurred yesterday in Rosedale at the intersection of Franklin Square Drive and King Avenue. According to WMAR-2 News, the victim, who is a juvenile, sustained non-life-threatening injuries after being assaulted with a knife by a suspect reported to be a peer. The incident reportedly occurred shortly after the student exited the bus.
Baltimore County Police responded to the scene around 1:00 p.m. following reports of an assault. The victim required medical attention and was transported to the hospital, as detailed in both the police summary and an announcement shared with the community by the Kenwood High School's summer school lead. Despite the violence that unfolded, the school's message, sent by Rochelle Harley, emphasized ongoing commitment to student safety: "I am writing to inform you of an incident that occurred this afternoon. A student who was on bus 183 was stabbed after they exited the bus. Baltimore county police and school administrators are on the scene. The student is currently receiving medical attention, and the investigation is ongoing," as Harley conveyed in the statement obtained by FOX Baltimore.
