Kicking off the family-friendly festivities, local authorities and community partners eagerly await the opportunity to mingle with the public, fostering connections beyond the typical enforcement interactions, according to a social media post obtained by Kannapolis Fire and Police. They encourage attendees to bring lawn chairs to relax and enjoy the assortment of activities prepared for entertainment and community building with local non-profits manning booths, offering information on services and volunteer opportunities, for those seeking to deepen their civic engagement, the city invites neighborhood associations, community groups, and homeowner associations to partake in the celebrations.
An additional draw for the evening is the live performance by the award-winning band 9 DayTrip, known for their blend of blues, country, and rock-n-roll. Participants can also expect a variety of free food, adult Bingo, children's games, and more, ensuring entertainment for all age groups. Fun and camaraderie aside, there’s a giving aspect to the evening as well; the department has organized a school supply drive for those who would like to contribute, promising free backpacks and supplies to benefit the young learners among the community.
