The Kauaʽi Police Department (KPD) has issued a fresh appeal to the public, seeking information that could resolve the decade-old murder of Amber Jackson. According to a press release provided by Kauaʽi County, the department is imploring anyone with knowledge of the case to come forward.
Amber Jackson, 57, was discovered dead on July 3, 2010, in a secluded forest area in Keālia, after being reported missing since June 23, 2010. An autopsy determined her cause of death as blunt-force trauma to the head, suffered from a violent assault. Despite ongoing investigative efforts, and new strategies, there has been no arrest in connection to her death.
The Amber Jackson Justice Group (AJJG), established by the victim's friends and family, has contributed to keeping the memory of the case alive and has put forth a $20,000 reward for information that could lead to a conviction. In a quote from the official press release, Assistant Chief Darren Rose affirmed, “Our objective remains clear: to identify and prosecute the person or persons responsible for Amber’s death.” He further noted the belief that there are individuals with information that could propel the investigation.
