The City of Hilliard has announced Keenan Thompson as the new custodian for its Community Center, according to an official release. Thompson, who comes from a stint with the Hilliard City School District, where he dedicated seven years as a custodian at Memorial Middle School, will now be tasked with maintaining the cleanliness and order of the Community Center.
Thompson's connection to the city runs deep—not only has he worked within the Hilliard City School District, but he also has lived in the area. His career trajectory has come full circle, returning to the seeds of his work history. His first job was with the Recreation and Parks Department. It is a return to familiar grounds, to a community he knows well.
"Everybody wants a job that they can enjoy," Thompson expressed in a statement obtained by the City of Hilliard's official news release. "You don't want it to feel like a job. You want to be happy when you come into work, so I think that’s what I’m more excited about — just meeting new people, seeing some new faces."
Beyond the corridors of the Community Center, Thompson moonlights as a cook at P.F. Changs, where he has been a part of the culinary team for 14 years. His interests also extend to the realm of sports and fitness; Thompson is an avid basketball player, a fitness enthusiast, and faithfully supports the Cavs.
