Residents should expect to possibly seek shelter from unexpected weather changes quickly. The calm wind will gradually pick up, coming from the west at about 5 mph in the afternoon. Continuing into tonight, the pattern of uncertainty with weather persists, with a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms before the early morning hours.
Looking ahead to tomorrow, the NWS advises a 40 percent probability of rain and storms after the afternoon, as temperatures are prognosticated to climb even higher, with a high near 94 degrees and heat index values that could reach 99 degrees.
