The skies of Knoxville will soon dazzle with the vibrant eruptions of the annual Festival on the 4th celebration, but city officials are urging residents to steer clear from DIY pyrotechnics. According to a social media post by the City of Knoxville - Government, locals are encouraged to "Be safe and leave the fireworks to the professionals."
The official festivities will kick off at 5 pm, accompanied by live music on three stages set to enthrall attendees. The highlight for many, the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra, is scheduled to begin its performance at 8 pm in the Tennessee Amphitheater. As the evening culminates, fireworks are slated to light up the night sky at approximately 9:45 pm. This free event promises an array of fun activities on the lawns of World's Fair Park.
City officials emphasize that attending professional fireworks displays is the safest way to celebrate the Fourth of July. Knoxville’s organized events are designed to provide entertainment in a controlled and secure environment for residents of all ages.
According to city officials and public safety experts, amateur fireworks pose a risk of injury and property damage each year. In support of Knoxville’s safety message, experts recommend attending professional displays as a safer alternative. The city continues to promote organized events as a way to ensure public safety during Independence Day celebrations.
