
Patrols were heightened by Knoxville Police Department officers over the Independence Day holiday in a proactive measure to maintain roadway safety. The initiative was launched to reduce the increase in traffic incidents that often occurs during holiday periods.
According to a social media post by Knoxville Police TN, this year's fourth of July enforcement efforts were vigilant with no fatal crashes reported within the city limits.
During the 4th of July holiday, KPD officers conducted enhanced holiday traffic enforcement in an effort to keep the roads as safe as possible.

Thankfully, there were no fatal crashes in Knoxville city limits, while there were seven DUI arrests.

The increased police presence corresponded with the Knoxville Police Department reporting "seven DUI arrests" over the holiday period.
