Residents and visitors in Kōloa will need to adjust their travel plans on July 26, as the Department of Public Works has announced scheduled lane closures on Lāwa‘i Road. According to the County of Kaua'i official release, the closures will be in effect between 7:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., pending favorable weather conditions.
Lane closures are scheduled near Kukui‘ula Small Boat Harbor on Lāwa‘i Road for emergency shoulder repairs. Traffic will be reduced to a single-lane contraflow, and drivers should expect delays and plan accordingly.
Drivers who use this route are advised by the county to allow extra travel time and avoid parking in work zones. Flaggers will be on site to help manage traffic and reduce delays during the repairs.
