My 2 Cents, a staple of L.A.'s soul food scene for the past 12 years, is set to close its dine-in service at the end of July. The restaurant, known for dishing out comforting Southern cuisine, will be shifting its focus to full-service catering. According to a post on the restaurant's Instagram page, owner and chef Alisa Reynolds expressed gratitude to her patrons, stating, "Whether you’ve been with us for years or just found us through a plate of peach cobbler or an Instagram scroll, your support will always be the heartbeat of everything we do."

 

 

Reynolds plans to continue to serve the L.A. community with My 2 Cents' signature flavors, but now in a different format. As reported, the restaurant is officially scheduled to stop dine-in service on July 31, 2025. The closure will mark the beginning of Reynolds' new venture into catering, with the goal of bringing her popular dishes to a wider audience through offices, private events, and community gatherings.

In the Instagram announcement, Reynolds paid homage to the journey she and the restaurant have undertaken, including overcoming various challenges without reliance on major investors or backers. "Grit(s), grind, and a whole lot of soul built My 2 Cents," she wrote. Reynolds is inviting customers to join for a final dinner on July 31st, before the restaurant converts its operations the following day.

My 2 Cents is planning a special event on August 1st called "From the Soil to Your Soul: The Celebration," as mentioned in the Instagram post. This event, which runs from 6 pm to 10 pm, is meant to celebrate the legacy and memories built over the last decade. Guests are expected to gather at the 5583 W Pico Blvd location to enjoy the festivities and get a glimpse of the restaurant’s new chapter in catering.
