
Firefighters in Chatsworth were called upon to extinguish a blaze that broke out in a one-story strip mall located at 9853 N Mason Av. According to an LAFD alert, the fire department was notified of the incident, designated INC#1635, at 9:44 PM. Upon arrival, initially, the first responders observed no external signs of fire, but a subsequent search revealed a small fire within one of the units. The LAFD immediately switched to offensive firefighting mode to tackle the situation.
The subsequent update provided by the fire department indicated that it took 45 firefighters merely 10 minutes to confine and fully extinguish what was believed to be an oven fire in the building. The operation involved forcible entry into the unit and rapidly positioning of a firefighting hose line to prevent further fire spread. Thankfully, no injuries were reported during the incident.
Officials have yet to determine the specific cause of the fire, which remains under investigation. Firefighters executed a coordinated response to ensure the fire was contained effectively, reflecting the efficiency and preparedness of the LAFD. Following the extinguishment of the fire, the firefighters remained on the scene to assist with building safety and further investigations.
