Commutes and travel through Ladue are about to get a bit more congested as the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) announces lane closures on Route AB, also known as Ladue Road. Starting July 16, one lane will be shut down for a month due to construction, affecting the stretch between Route 141 and Interstate 270. The lane will close at 9 a.m. and won't reopen until work on the barrier wall and sidewalks near Hibler Creek is complete, according to MoDOT.
While the construction persists, temporary traffic signals will direct one-way flows, sharing the remaining open lane between eastbound and westbound vehicles. Drivers should expect delays and are encouraged to seek alternative routes or add additional travel time to their schedules. Notably, the entrance from Chasselle Lane onto Ladue Road will be closed down as well, nudging local residents to use North Mason Road instead.
The closure has been scheduled to facilitate necessary improvements along this busy roadway, which serves as a key connector between various communities and business districts. MoDOT underscores that weather conditions are a critical factor for the timeline, with the potential to expedite or prolong the planned works. Commuters and local residents are advised to stay informed through MoDOT's regular updates and traffic advisories.
Travel through the area of Ladue destined to become more time-consuming, and businesses and residents are bracing for the impact. Those utilizing Route AB for their daily commutes or even sporadic travel will need to plan ahead, as delays are expected to be a regular feature until the temporary traffic arrangements lift. Continued patience and adherence to traffic guides is urged by MoDOT as they work to improve roadway conditions for the longer-term benefit of all users.
