As Las Vegas grapples with a growing number of traffic-related fatalities, a pedestrian involved in a recent collision on North Nellis Boulevard has succumbed to his injuries. The Clark County Coroner's Office confirmed to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department that the unidentified individual, struck by a vehicle last Friday, was pronounced dead. This event raises the number of traffic fatalities within the jurisdiction this year to 92.
The collision, which occurred south of East Owens Avenue, involved a 2023 Tesla Model 3 and a pedestrian crossing outside a marked crosswalk. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Collision Investigation Section is currently conducting a thorough probe into the circumstances of the tragic incident. According to initial reports by Hoodline, the pedestrian received life-threatening injuries upon impact and was promptly transported to University Medical Center Trauma Center for treatment.
The vehicle, driven by Maria Ramirez, 60, of Las Vegas, was navigating the leftmost lane at around 9:25 p.m. when the accident occurred. Ramirez and her passengers, Olivia Torres, 94, and Antonio Torres, 63, were reported to be unharmed. Officers at the scene confirmed that Ramirez showed no signs of impairment and cooperated fully with the investigation, as per Hoodline.
