Las Vegas families with children in kindergarten through fifth grade can now register for the Safekey program for the 2025–2026 school year. Registration opened online on Tuesday. The program requires a $25 annual registration fee per child. Daily fees are $7 for before-school care and $10 for after-school care, according to the City of Las Vegas.
Parents can enroll their children online. For those using cash, check, or money order, payments can be made at the Customer Care Center at 500 S. Main St. The center is open for walk-ins Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Safekey works with several subsidy providers, including the Desert Regional Center and Moapa Band of Paiutes Tribal Childcare, to help make the program available to more city residents, as reported by the City of Las Vegas.
The Safekey program will be available at 70 elementary schools in Las Vegas for the 2025–2026 school year. It offers before- and after-school care for students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Activities include STEAM programs, crafts, games, physical fitness, literacy, and a snack. The program follows the Clark County School District calendar and will start on August 11. For more information or to register, parents can call 702.229.KIDS (5437) or visit the program’s website, as stated by the City of Las Vegas.
