As the doors of Creekside Community Center closed earlier this month to make room for the advent of a new Community Health and Wellness Center, Bloomington's seniors won't be left without a gathering place. The Logan Lodge, situated at 9930 Logan Ave. S., has stepped in as the interim site for over fifty programs formerly held at Creekside. According to a recent update, the center swung open its doors on June 16 to resume activities, including diverse offerings from card games to needleworking circles.
Despite the transition, the vibe remains unchanged, serving as a hub for crafting, camaraderie, and continued learning. Participants with a penchant for various handiworks have found solace at Logan Lodge, waiting for the new hub. The promise is that of a not just a physical space, but also of a community that persists, no matter where they assemble.
The re-location demonstrates not just logistical change but a testament to adaptability. The Logan Lodge has become more than just a temporary facility; it has embodied the continuation of activities and social connections for the 50+ population, misplaced among the handoff from Creekside.
