Set to unfold from September 29 to October 3, the Macomb County Planning and Economic Development (MCPED) is pressing for companies to step up, sign up, and throw open their doors to the potential workforce of tomorrow. In its eleventh year, the 2025 MFG Day Week experience is not just a passing opportunity. As the participation has grown over the years – reaching nearly 20,000 students to date, the goal now is to pull in more than 2,000 students from across all Macomb County high schools. Participants of the event can expect a comprehensive peek behind the industrial curtain. They'll be guided through 90-120 minute tours at various manufacturing facilities. These tours are hands-on, featuring a briefing by company leaders who lay out the basics of the company's work, the customers they serve, and the manufacturing they perform. But it doesn't stop there; students will have the chance to witness distinct work areas, talk to employees, and really get a feel for what the life cycle of a product is like.
Not just a day out of the classroom, MFG Day Week has tangible outcomes.
