The Nevada Department of Transportation will close northbound I-15 from Russell Road to Flamingo Road from 9:00 p.m. on July 11 to 5:00 a.m. on July 14 for paving and striping work as part of the I-15 Tropicana Interchange Project. Ramps from westbound and eastbound I-215, Russell Road, and Las Vegas Boulevard will also be closed. A suggested detour is to exit at Russell Road, travel north on Decatur Boulevard, and re-enter I-15 at Flamingo Road, according to the Nevada Department of Transportation.
Southbound I-15 will be closed between Spring Mountain Road and Tropicana Avenue from 9:00 p.m. on July 18, to 5:00 a.m. on July 21. On-ramps at Spring Mountain Road, Flamingo Road, and Harmon Avenue will also be closed during this time. A suggested detour is to exit I-15 at Spring Mountain Road, travel south on Decatur Boulevard, and re-enter I-15 at the Tropicana Avenue on-ramp, as reported by the Nevada Department of Transportation.
The Nevada Department of Transportation is advising drivers to use caution in work zones and consider using detour routes when possible. The current closures, dependent on weather conditions, are expected to be the last major disruptions for the I-15/Tropicana Project. Future work is expected to have minimal traffic impact.
