A man died after a shooting last Wednesday evening in Modesto. The Stanislaus County Sheriff's Office said it happened just before 7 p.m. on the 600 block of Leon Avenue. The victim, 38-year-old Donnie Boatman, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and later died, as reported by ABC10.
Police arrested 34-year-old Dontae Galindo a day after the shooting, about a mile from the scene, according to KCRA. He is charged with homicide and possession of a firearm by a felon. Investigators linked him to the case through reports of a vehicle seen leaving the area. Records show he has previous arrests for attempted murder, drug possession, and obstructing a peace officer.
