
A suspect has been apprehended by the Metropolitan Police Department after an assault involving a knife took place on 7th Street in Northwest Washington, DC. The incident, which began as a verbal dispute and escalated to violence on Tuesday, around midday, resulted in one person being stabbed and subsequently hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
The confrontation turned physical in the 1800 block of 7th Street, Northwest, according to the police department, a knife was used by the aggressor, later identified as 55-year-old Andre Thomas of Northwest, DC police officers responded quickly to the scene, and Thomas was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife) as per the provided information from the Metropolitan Police Department.
Following the altercation, DC Fire and EMS promptly transported the victim to a local hospital, where they received care for injuries deemed not to be life-threatening. Thomas remains in custody as authorities continue their investigation into the events leading up to the assault.
