A tragic event unfolded in the Bronx this weekend as a woman was reportedly found fatally stabbed in her apartment. According to ABC7NY, the victim, 40-year-old Tamara Rowe, suffered stab wounds to her chest and right arm. The incident occurred on East 232nd Street in the neighborhood of Wakefield just after 8:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Responding officers discovered Rowe in her residence, and she was quickly transported to Montefiore Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Khaleel Cooper, 39, who has been identified as Rowe's boyfriend, was arrested yesterday and is facing murder charges. While the motivations behind the incident have not been detailed, officials indicate it stemmed from a domestic dispute.
Parallel reports from News 12 share that Cooper is now in custody and the charges against him include murder. It is suggested by sources that Cooper held a close personal relationship with the victim, being her boyfriend.
Neighbors of the deceased expressed shock and sadness, noting that Rowe was the mother of two young daughters. Details about the daughters' wellbeing or who will care for them following the devastating loss of their mother have not yet been released.
