A man died after an assault in South Sacramento on Monday night. The Sacramento Police Department said the incident happened near 26th Avenue and Franklin Boulevard. Officials arrived before 11 p.m. and found an adult male with serious injuries, according to ABC10.
A man was pronounced dead at the scene despite emergency response efforts. His name has not yet been released. The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will identify him after notifying his family. Detectives and crime scene investigators continued working overnight, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses.
The Sacramento Police Department is investigating a homicide after a man was found injured and later died. KCRA reported that officers arrived and "The fire department soon arrived" to give aid, but the man did not survive. There is no suspect information at this time.
