
A man was shot and killed in the early hours of Thursday morning in the south Natomas area of north Sacramento, as per the authorities. The Sacramento Police Department reported officers were called to the scene on the 2000 block of West El Camino Avenue around 3:30 a.m. after receiving reports of a shooting, KCRA details. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man with at least one gunshot wound.
Responding to the incident with a measure of urgency, the police found a man critically injured and swiftly transported him to a hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, the man succumbed to his injuries, marking what appears to be the city's 27th homicide within its boundaries this year, FOX40 reports. Present at the crime scene were homicide detectives and crime scene investigators, though the shooting's context remains a mystery to the public at this point.
The Sacramento Police Department is actively seeking witnesses and asks anyone with information about the incident to step forward.
